📖 Backstory
Matt Wolfe joined YouTube in April 2009. In its early years his channel focused on WordPress and building websites. From 2017 to January 2023 he co-hosted the Hustle & Flowchart podcast with Joe Fier.[1][2][3][4]
In late 2022 he kept a spreadsheet of the AI tools he was trying. Over one weekend he learned Webflow and turned it into a searchable site, FutureTools.io, which he introduced in December 2022. When his videos about AI tools started outperforming his earlier marketing videos, he refocused the channel on AI.[5][6][2]
The channel now describes itself as “sifting through all the AI noise to share what actually matters”, with a new video every Friday. Future Tools has become an AI news site and newsletter. He also co-hosts The Next Wave, a HubSpot podcast, with Nathan Lands, and he interviews tech leaders, including Microsoft AI CEO Mustafa Suleyman at Microsoft Build in 2026.[1][6][7][8]
